This 25 year old female Asian complained that her nose was too wide and flat. She did not like her wide nostrils and the width of the tip.
The Asian nose is naturally wide. Just how wide the nose should be is a personal choice. Notice how the nose was narrowed to fit her face.
The bones, cartilage, and nostrils widths were reduced.
A rhinoplasty does not have to look like surgery was done. Negative features can be minimized while the positive ones emphasized. She had an open rhinoplasty under general anesthesia. The bones and cartilage were moved closer and the width of the lower nose reduced.
There is a gentle elevation of the nasal boney dorsum. Moving the bones closer raises the dorsum. No dorsal graft was used during this nasal surgery. Excessive elevation of the Asian nose can look very unnatural
